2008 Gifted $36,000.00 to UC Davis Pediatric Oncology - project under review 2007 Gifted $128,079.00 to UC Davis Pediatric Oncology Program to be used for the Northern California Pediatric Phase I Consortium to test new drugs in children and adolescent with relapsed cancer. Members of the Consortium include: UC Davis Pediatric Oncology, Kaiser Permanente/Sacramento, UC San Francisco and Lucille Packard/Stanford. 2006 Presented UC Davis Pediatric Oncology Program with a gift of $92,000.00 on August 25, 2006. Funds are earmarked for two local research projects: · Determine if there are new natural substances to target leukemia cells. · Find new ways to identify cancer cells by using Ramam Spectroscopy (beam of radiation) to look at various properties of cancer vs. normal cells. 2005 On October 5th, 2005 presented a $50,000 gift to UC Davis' Cancer Center Director, Dr. Ralph deVere White, in naming the new childhood cancer clinical expansion Playroom. "Keaton's Korner" will be a happy place for children receiving cancer treatment and their siblings to play and help keep life as normal as possible. The ground floor of this expansion, which KRM was instrumental in advocating, is dedicated to childhood cancer outpatient treatment services and will notably be a state of the art facility for children receiving cancer treatment in our community. Gifted $40,000 to the UC Davis Pediatric Oncology Program for the purchase of a bone marrow transplant software program and collaborative research project studying osteosarcoma (bone cancer) with the UC Davis Veterinary School of Medicine. 2004 Gifted $20,000.00 to UC Davis Pediatric Oncology Program for the Pediatric Clinical Trials Program. 2003 Gifted $20,000.00 to UC Davis Pediatric Oncology Program for the Starlight Starbright Nintendo Center for the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Floor and to support the Pediatric oncology Clinical Trials Program. 2002 Gifted $20,000.00 to supply resource books and materials to families at UC Davis Pediatric Oncology program 2001 Gifted $15,000.00 to UC Davis Pediatric Oncology to initiate, train and support the Pediatric Pain Management Program. The program launched a specific Task force to implement pediatric pain management practices which have improved the quality of care for children being treated for cancer. 2000 Gifted $12,000.00 to UC Davis Pediatric Oncology for the Pediatric Clinical Trials Program. Gifted $5,000.00 to the Children's Oncology Group Foundation - Neuroblastoma Reserach Project Fund Sponsored Educational materials to local Pediatric Oncology Internship Programs to assist young professionals in their study of childhood cancer. |
